Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Ledgerly collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use the Ledgerly Android application. It covers authentication, business records, scanned documents, notifications and customer support.

1. Information we collect

Ledgerly may collect the information required to provide app functionality, including:

  • Phone number used for OTP-based sign-in and account security.
  • Business profile details such as business name, address, GST details and preferences.
  • Customer, supplier, staff, inventory, invoice, bill, expense, receipt and ledger records entered by you.
  • Invoice, bill, barcode or document images captured for scanning, OCR or storage purposes.
  • Device and app signals required for sync, notifications, updates, troubleshooting and security.

2. Authentication and account security

Ledgerly uses one-time passwords sent to your registered mobile number to verify identity during sign-in and account recovery flows. Your phone number is used for authentication, security, account integrity and service-related communication.

We do not use your phone number for unrelated promotional messaging.

3. Camera, scans and uploaded documents

Ledgerly may access the camera or uploaded images to scan invoices, bills, barcodes and related records. Scanned content may be processed on backend infrastructure to extract details, support OCR flows, improve record accuracy and preserve business history.

These files are used to deliver product features, not for advertising resale.

4. How we use your data

  • To create and secure your account.
  • To provide billing, khata, POS, inventory, GST, staff, report and subscription features.
  • To sync data across devices and restore information when needed.
  • To generate PDFs, statements, receipts and other business outputs.
  • To send transactional notifications, updates and important service messages.
  • To maintain performance, reliability, fraud prevention and support operations.

5. Storage, retention and protection

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect business data, uploaded files and account details from unauthorized access, loss or misuse. Data may be retained as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes or support recovery.

Access is limited to legitimate operational or support needs.

6. Third-party services

Ledgerly may rely on carefully selected third-party services where required for functionality, such as:

  • OTP delivery providers for secure login.
  • Cloud infrastructure or storage providers for sync and file handling.
  • Libraries or services that support barcode scanning, OCR, billing or update delivery.
  • Notification and analytics infrastructure used for app reliability and service operations.

7. Your choices

You may request access, correction or deletion of your account data by contacting Ledgerly support. Some information may need to be retained where required for security, compliance or legitimate service operation.

8. Children's privacy

Ledgerly is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Policy updates and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
